| What is KiteLife.com? |
| KiteLife.com is first annd foremost a bi-monthly Internet magazine with columns, features and event reports all dealing with the kiting sport. It is a 'zine with a target audience of those who are hard-core kitefliers, as well as offering information for those new to the sport. We have assembled a top-flight staff of experts to craft the best possible 'zine that we can. KiteLife.com aims to combine all of the possibilities of the Internet with the structure of a print magazine. We also offer arguably the largest and most condensed resource for archived publications, videos, flier discussion, photos, just to name a few. |
| How do I navigate KiteLife.com? |
| There is always a navigation bar on the left side of our pages. On the navbar you'll see "Archives" where all issues of KiteLife.com are viewable, note the different format prior to February 2003... Select one you would like to read, and click on the link. Each issue is designed into easy to read areas. Columns are generally ongoing pieces done by our core group of staff, covering specific topics within the kiting sport. Features are just that, feature articles which may be about kite events, issues, you name it. The navbar also has things such as links to other kite sites, videos, discussion forum, kite classifieds, photos, free kitemail, the current issue and much more. |
| Are the pictures thumbnailed? |
| Almost all pictures on KiteLife.com are thumbnailed. This allows us to put a lot of graphics onto the site without it taking forever to download. When you see a small picture, you can click on it to see the larger picture, usually a "hot tip" will appear if you hover the pointer over a picture... This will generally give a description of the photo if available. If you have trouble with this, in most cases you can remove the page name in the URL (i.e. index.htm) and replace it with the word images, which will open the folder in which the photos are stored. |
| Who produces KiteLife.com? |
| Kitelife is 100% owned and operated by John Barresi, long-time kiter, and the editor/publisher of the magazine. Day to day operations are handled by himself with the assitance of his Assistant Edito Dave Shattuck and a few regional Directors-at-Large who help fuel content as well as a rotating staff of writers, editors, and technical assistants... We pride ourselves on content from kitefliers, for kitefliers. |
| Who can send material to KiteLife.com? |
| Simple, anyone with an interest in kiting. We would love to have your submissions! If you're even just thinking about it and hesitating, just take a shot at it! The kiting world needs your perspective!
In many cases it is the newest fliers and contributors who bring our pages to life, with the freshness and insight they have as newcomers to kiting. |
| What kinds of material could I send to KiteLife.com? |
| We are interested in any and all information about kite flying and kites. This could include photos, articles, competition or demo videos, stories, interviews, cartoons, animations, you name it! Submission Guidelines

ARTICLES
Editorial submissions are always welcome. We request an inquiry

If you practice any kiting discipline that you feel is not adequately covered in KiteLife, submit an article and pictures!
Preferred format for editorial submissions is DOC (MS Word) or TXT (Notepad) files. We can also process most Dreamweaver and FrontPage (HTML) submissions. Text documents are preferable however... The ideal minimum word count for articles is 500 words, but we will review submissions of any size. Please use your spell/grammar checker, keeping the workload as light as possible for our wonderful copy editor.
In all cases, keep formatting to a minimum!
