Some guidelines to take into consideration:
  • Submissions should typically include 1,500 words or more for reports, interviews and articles, or a minimum of 800 words for "pre-festival" reports (MS Word has a "word count" function).
  • Keep formatting (font, color, size) to a minimum, this aspect will be handled by our editor.
  • For standard articles, include as many photos as possible... Emailed 5 at a time, or all together in a zip file.
  • Photos may be sent in JPG, JPEG, PNG or GIF format... Always include photographer credits.
By submitting photos, you are attesting that you are the owner of the images or have permission to reprint them, that no copyrights are being infringed, and that you have provided proper credits.

MS Word, Notepad, or comparable and common programs are all ideal for composing articles for Kitelife.

If you would certain photos placed with specific paragraphs within your article, please include tags such as this wherever you would like:

Other than these, your profile will include:

  • Competition disciplines
  • Pairs Name (if applicable)
  • Pairs Partner (if applicable)

  • Kite Sponsors (optional)
  • Local Flying Field (optional)   
  • Year you started flying kites
  • Favorite Competition Experience (optional)

While we may add some questions based on user suggestions, these are the ones currently in use (as of 10/21/05), and are all based on relevant information for announcers and organizers.

YES! The profiles system currently allows you to upload three different photos to your profile in JPG, GIF or PNG format.

The photos you upload will be thumbnailed in the upper right corner of your finished profile, linked to pop up the full size image for visitors.

Not only that, you can also configure personalized captions for each photo which display when visitors hover their mouse over the photo in question.

You can also add/remove/change photos and captions at any time through your profiles control panel.

Simple, just visit the profiles registration page by clicking here.

Once there, just fill out the form as thoroughly as possible and click "Register" at the bottom of the page.

This will immediately bring you to the log in page, with your user name and password already populated... Just click "Log on".

Once your profile has been submitted, a confirmation email will be sent to you containing your selected user name and password for future reference.
